Many people are unaware that on the Kindergarten playground, tucked in a corner is a thriving chicken coop. The state of the art chicken coop houses six chickens who are taken care of by our students, families, and staff members. During Kindergarten play time, it’s not surprising to see a chicken going for a ride on a tricycle safely tucked in the arms of a student. The chickens have been on Campus since 2016 after being donated to the school. Each grade level collaborated at that time to give their special chicken a name. The chicken coop and chickens provide students with many opportunities to learn in a hands on environment outside of the typical curriculum. Eggs are given away weekly to interested student families.
