Fifth-graders from Homer Pittard Campus School have enjoyed the day at New Frontiers, where they zip lined, completed a ropes course, and learned the "flying squirrel." The experience teaches the students about leadership and learning to work with others.

Homer Pittard Campus School held its annual Book Parade Monday, which featured each class decorating floats and donning costumes to represent a book and its characters. Parents lined the front drive to cheer on the parade as music played from the school's front steps.

Campus School parents, This is James Evans with Rutherford County Schools. Unfortunately, we have to close the school Friday, Sept. 4, because of a maintenance issue that has caused the air conditioning not to work. The building belongs to MTSU and their maintenance crews have responded, but they aren't sure the repair will be made early enough in the day tomorrow to turn the AC back on. The heat index is expected to be above 100 for much of the day. Dr. King will follow-up with all parents tomorrow. We're sending tonight's message as a text and email because it's late. I will send a voice call in the morning at 5:30 a.m. to ensure everyone gets the message.

Campus School is excited to celebrate Reading in Schools Day by honoring Dolly Parton’s incredible legacy of literacy, generosity, perseverance, and Tennessee pride! Students will enjoy special guest readers, share favorite Imagination Library books, dream big, and take part in a schoolwide Drop Everything & Read celebration.

From September 8–11, we’ll also collect donations for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. And don’t forget to join the fun by dressing in denim, gingham, country/western wear, or a little rhinestone sparkle as we celebrate Dolly and the joy of reading!

Today is Kindergarten’s first FULL day of school, and we are ready for a day filled with learning, laughter, new friendships, and lots of fun! 🍎✏️📚

We also loved welcoming our Kindergarten families for our Boo Hoo/Yahoo Breakfast this morning! 🥹🎉 Whether you were feeling a little Boo Hoo or a big Yahoo, we are so thankful to have you as part of our Campus School family.

As announced this summer, Rutherford County Schools has launched two new technology tools that will simplify how parents receive information and how they interact with their teachers and coaches to learn about their student’s academics, school announcements, and extra-curricular activities.

The first one is ParentVue by Synergy, and this will be used to see your student’s academic information, including report cards, daily grades, missing assignments, class schedules, etc. It is similar to Skyward that we used last year, but it is much more mobile and user friendly. The companion is called StudentVue and contain similar information for students. 

The second app, and perhaps the most important, is MyRCS. Search for “Rutherford County Schools” in your app store, and download it for free.

The MyRCS app will be used by parents to receive messages and interact with your school, teachers, coaches, or band directors depending on the activities students are involved in. This is the sole communication platform we are using for this type of communication this year. It replaces platforms such as ClassDojo, Remind, Band or any others as parents have asked for a one-stop source for school information. 

Once downloaded, you can select which schools your children attend to receive a live feed of news items from those schools. By adjusting your preferences, written messages families receive are translated automatically into your preferred language. You can also interact directly teachers and coaches using a featured called “Rooms,” which is a secure two-way communication tool. 

Rooms launches Monday and Parents will receive an email or text message inviting them to join their teacher’s or coach’s Room. If you don’t get the email or text, that’s ok. Beginning Monday evening you can visit the Rooms section of the app, or use the login button on your school’s website.

For your login, all you need to enter is the cell phone number you have on file with your school or your email address. You should then receive an access code, and you will be logged in.

Mrs. Hollifield passed the national board exam and is now a

Nationally Certified School Nurse (NCSN).

She is one of only 65 in the entire state of Tennessee with this designation.
